“Those russians brought only suffering to the world,” says Oscar-winning Helen Mirren, who plays the title role in the movie Golda. These words are about the 1973 Yom Kippur War, which was led from behind the scenes by the Soviet Union. Today, russia stands again behind the back of Hamas.

The movie Golda will be released In Ukrainian distribution on January 25, 2024. Distribution is provided by FILM.UA Group with the support of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine.

The biopic Golda tells about the most difficult time of the premiership of the born in Kyiv fourth Prime Minister of Israel — about the Yom Kippur War. The invasion of the armies of Egypt and Syria occurred suddenly, as well as the attack of Hamas exactly 50 years after those events.

The movie involves a stellar cast. In addition to Helen Mirren, one of the central roles — U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger — is played by Liev Schreiber, Tony Award winner and United24 ambassador. The movie is directed by Oscar winner Guy Nattiv.

After October 7, it is obvious: Ukraine and Israel have common enemies — international terrorism represented by russia, Iran and their proxies. Golda Meir from Kyiv, in turn, has become a symbol of the struggle for freedom, sovereignty and independence.
