Jews and Jewish organizations that have helped Ukraine have been declared the collective winner of the Genesis Prize-2023
The Genesis Prize is the most prestigious award in the Jewish world. It is often referred to as the Jewish Nobel Prize. According to its founders, until now it has been awarded on a personal basis to Jews “inspiring to change the world for the better.”
Over the years, its laureates have been Albert Bourla, Michael Bloomberg, Steven Spielberg, Michael Douglas, Natan Sharansky. This time, however, the expert commission could not single out one person — there were a lot of Jews inspiring positive changes. This is all due to the unprecedented support for Ukraine from the world Jewish community.
Reception and resettlement of displaced people, evacuation from the war zone, treatment and rehabilitation of the wounded, multimillion-dollar charitable donations — all this is in the spirit of the award, and this is exactly what Jews around the world have been doing for the past 11 months.
Therefore, Jews and Jewish organizations that have helped and continue to help Ukraine have been declared the collective winner of the Genesis Prize-2023.
