When Miron came to the military enlistment center at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he answered the greeting “Glory to Ukraine!” with a word “Good”.

He was not enlisted, as he did not have Ukrainian citizenship. Miron is an Israeli, and a residence permit was not enough.

Six months later, he did get into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Into the foreign legion unit where everyone spoke Georgian as it happened. Nevertheless, Miron was happy about that too.

He had come to Ukraine actually before the full-scale war, and his family was now here. They are all Ukrainians, and he is defending them.

At the same time, there are other reasons why he is fighting for Ukraine. “During World War II, many Ukrainians saved Jews from the Nazis. The debt must be repaid,” says the Israeli, who received the “Golden Cross” award of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
