Ihor Tysh has two homelands — Ukraine and Israel.

Ihor is originally from Irpin. From the age of 4 he was brought up in a boarding school for Jewish children in Kyiv. After finishing school he moved to Israel. After graduating from college, he returned to Ukraine, worked as a translator and Hebrew teacher.

From the first days of the war in 2022 he volunteered for the front.

On September 10, he was hit by a Russian FPV drone.

Amputation of an arm and multiple abdominal injuries, medically induced coma. Doctors are fighting for Ihor’s life now. They are probably not even aware of saving a citizen of another country.

But passport doesn’t matter in this war. Neither does faith. An orthodox Jew, born and raised in Ukraine, a citizen of Israel, he went to defend the country and the people that Russia is trying to portray as Nazis. It is impossible to think of anything more ridiculous. Ihor’s example is yet another confirmation of this.

God willing, he will survive.

Strength and patience to his girlfriend, who does not leave him for a minute in the hospital.
